#np Lupe Fiasco - The Show Goes On
I'll write the beatbox scene from the four cities in Central Java (Indonesia), there is Solo, Jogja, Semarang and Wonogiri. I make this because I wanna share some experience that I got from many friends in there. And I'll make it in four parts like the cities.
1. Solo (Solo Beatbox Community)

This community started from some people who got same interesting with human vocal imitating. There are Helmi, Erwin (me), Ian and Doby. Later Jojo come to be the part of founder member. We begin all of it because we like hiphop and rap music. We playing in Helmis house, in there we start to make a sound like in the rap beat. We don't know if that sounds called BEATBOX, later we learn it from Youtube. Helmi help a lot because he got internet connection at his house. Then we learn the basics, such as BTK and vocal scratch first and some easy effect.
When we think our skill is enough, we try to talk with the leader from KALIPSO (Kasultanan Hiphop Solo) a big community of some Hiphop head. We want to show what is beatbox in their local movement event. Then we got our name put in a flyer in those event. OK, basically our first name is not SOLO BEATBOX COMMUNITY, but SOLO BEATBOXCHESTRA. SOLO BEATBOXCHESTRA means we doing beatbox like an orchestra, a little bit narcist there, because I know our skill is still wack. Our first performance is so so so horrible, we're all out of beat, just doing some BTK and vocal scratch and a little bit effect. Some people who watch us is feel disappointed and give no care about us. But we think we have to keep moving.
After that, we doing our way to make this art become popular in our city. If we going anywhere in our city, if we meet events in any place, we trying to speak with the event organizer may we performing our skill in there event. We don't care if they pay us or not, one thing that I care is we can show our beatbox to people. Time by time goes by, and we getting more popular, so events come to us, not we have to come the events. And SOLO BEATBOX COMMUNITY get their name in SOLO. We also exist in some web medias, some local tvs and some local newspapers. Til now we have many talented beatboxers member, some groupies and many friends.
2. Jogja (Beatboxing of Jogja)

I build this community together with Gigih and Favre. I meet both of them in Indobeatbox Friendster Group. Because I build a beatbox community before in Solo, so I give some advice for them. In jogja there no beatbox community. So I support them to make it. Both of them first meet at angkringan in Kali Code and I don't join because too far and busy. Then I first meet with Gigih in UGM, because my ex-GF study there, so I share some beatbox things with him. First time I meet Favre is when Gigih got a beatbox job perform in MC D Jogja, so I finally meet him. Solo and Jogja Beatbox is always help one each other in that time, because the member still too little.
And someday we meet Yota, I meet him in Solo when a radio invite us in their event. Yota talking so much about this beatbox prospect. Then he become the manager of BEJO (BEatboxing of JOgja) and got so many events. But right now I lost contact with him.
BEJO coming bigger, bigger and bigger until now. They have so much skillful beatbox talents in there, so fresh and young. They have so much people who become champion in our local beatbox battle. They become more famous until now and have so many projects in their head. Proud to be one of their founder.
3. Semarang (Beatbox Community Of Semarang)

I don't know to much with this community, but I really know a lot with one of the founder. He is Boleng. Boleng is also have blood connection with Doby and Ian from Solo Beatbox. Before BCOS (Beatbox Community Of Semarang) is born, many times he play and perform together with us in Solo. He learn beatbox from Youtube also, and he try to copy and combine some beats there with his style.
BCOS as far as I knew from their twitter and their facebook groups also grow a lot. They got many young and talented members. They also exist in Komunitas Unik (CMIIW), a program in our national TV channel. And they also make their battle in this early time.
4. Wonogiri Beatbox Community

This one also, I don't know a lot how their scene in their city. But I help the founders to make this crew. The founders are Abiem and Begka. Begka right now is not active anymore, I don't know the latest news from him. And Abiem, last he join Beatbox Competition in Solo city and know he study in Sukoharjo.
Me, SBC and WBC (Wonogiri Beatbox Community) have performing in their Wonogiri Hiphop Movement. And looks like WBC right now is not so active in their beatbox performing. Hope they make this scene bigger someday. But one thing is right, their skill is just the way the same as good as another cities.
Sorry if what I write here is not so good. But one thing for sure is all of beatboxers no matter where he come or live, they got great talents and show their love in his way of beatboxing.
